Politicians and the Great UFO Conspiracy

Dennis Kucinich has recently become the butt of political jokes after making a statement about a personal UFO sighting. Shortly after calling President Bush crazy, the presidential hopeful admitted on NBC that he saw a UFO while visiting friends. His statement rings a bell with roughly a third of the American population that indicate some sense of belief or encounter with UFOs. Mike Huckabee seized the opportunity to question why it is big deal that he believes in Adam and Eve in light of Kucinich's belief in aliens.

Kucinich is not, however, the first American politician to admit having witnessed a UFO. Former President Jimmy Carter acknowledges having seen a UFO over his peanut fields in Georgia. Even former Senator John Glenn admits to having observed the unexplained while in orbit around the Earth. Former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta attempted unsuccessfully to obtain Pentagon records via the FOIA, "It is time for the government to declassify records that are more than 25 years old and to provide scientists with data that will assist in determining the real nature of this phenomenon." Scientists can begin by explaining the peculiar jitters exhibited by an unidentified object near Sirius B, captured photographically by yours truly.
