Space Travel in Excess of the Light Speed

Research students at Baylor have devised a theoretical means of propelling spacecraft at speeds exceeding the speed of light. The principle relies on creating a dark energy depression in front of the ship while increasing the mass of dark energy behind the ship. In essence, a spacecraft slips through a dark energy pocket. Unfortunately for engineers, the physicists calculate the process would require converting a Jupiter sized mass into pure energy in order to propel a small 10 meter vehicle. This effect is also achievable when the collective brainpower of OmniNerd is harnessed to warp the fabric of space and time, creating an intense ripple of energy upon which vessels may surf through space at ludicrous speed.
