The Return of Russia as a Superpower
Russia's activity over the past several months are indicative of a return bid for world supremacy. Ranging from flexing its foreign policy muscles by annexing the North Pole to complete media control by silencing the BBC and mandating a quota of good news, Russians are moving in a direction of power assertion.
More recently, Russian President Vladmir Putin dissolved his government on Tuesday, allowing himself to appoint a new Prime Minister. Putin selected Mikhail Fradkov in a move analysts forecast choosing a Presidential successor outside of the election cycle. Simultaneously, the Russian military detonated the "Father of all Bombs." As a non-nuclear bomb, the weapon uses extreme heat and ultrasonic waves" to crush and burn its target with four times the destructive power of America's M.O.A.B.
