The recent release of US diplomatic cables spanning from 1966 through 2010 by the whistleblower site WikiLeaks has spun some interesting news. Almost immediately upon their scheduled release, the website was subjected to a DDoS hammering away at 10Gbps. But many documents were released to mainstream news outlets for screening in advance of the public which has revealed various stories, confirmed suspicions but generally just aired dirty laundry.

• There was a story of an American escaping from Iran with drug smugglers via horseback.
• There was affirmation the Secretary of State ordered diplomats to engage in intelligence gathering to include everything from photos, biographies to even biometric information.
• The weakening ties between China and North Korea likened the DPRK to a "spoiled child."
• Comments from neighboring countries in the Middle East, notably Saudi Arabia and Egypt, show the animosity harbored towards Iran.
• Dirty laundry from the British where royalty was involving itself with commentary on world affairs.

All in all, there is information spanning just about every topic of interest from Iran, China, North Korea to the United Nations and America's own allies. It goes without saying the United States isn't the only nation that corresponds with itself frankly about foreign partners. Clinton commented that "I can tell you, in my conversations, at least one of my counterparts said to me, 'Don't worry about it; you should see what we say about you.'"
